26 to “Orientation Lock”

  1. Paul says:

After testing it for several days. I wanted to mention that not only does it not safe orientation but also after battery put but even after simple phone turn off. That is a let down. I have my phone auto off setup every night so I have to re-enable every morning. Isn’t there a way to keep it persistent after turn off? I can understand after battery pull it goes through initialization so it is hard to make an app stay persistent but turning off all modules are still running.

I was never able to figure out how save the state and re initialize it. So even for a phone turn off I won’t be able to have it remember. Sorry.

  2. Paul says:

Thank you so much. Exactly what I was looking for. I have Verizon 9550 storm 2 and the fact that it doesn’t persists after reboot actually works better for me. Other apps like TiltOff cause an error every time the phone rebooted because apps are trying to to security timer reset and Blackberry locks them now, to prevent them from virus. Once again thanks so much my phone was irritating me every time it was switching to landscape in phone mode.

Great aplication, but is not working with the google map aplication. Thanks buddie

  6. Oscar says:

Thank you! I cant seem to convert the .jad file anywhere…it would be great to have the .axl and .cod files.

Also, can the Orientation Lock be enabled while Storm is in lock mode.

You could not do that in the Stop Tilt version.

    Thanks for the quick response.

  7. Oscar says:

How do you convert this file to an ALX format? The desktop manager will not let me install the .jad file.

OR Do you have this file in ALX format??

    Thnks..

    • admin says:

Right now its OTA download only. I’d have to repackage it for desktop use. I’ll try to do it soon.

  8. biggun says:

This is a great app. It works flawlessly for me. I’ve been looking for something like this since I got my storm.

  9. l.a.rossmann says:

The not persisting across reboots would be fine if this device didn’t require a reboot a day. That would drive me out of my mind, setting it on every single screen of the whole phone to lock in portrait once or twice a day.

  10. admin says:

Yes this will work with 5.0

  11. Daryl says:

    Is this compatible with 5.0?

  15. josh says:

Is there a way to lock the orientation on the lock screen app?

  16. admin says:

    > joe No, For the indefinite future I do not see this feature being implemented. The main reason is I have no idea how to do it.

  17. Joe says:

    @admin:

  21. rex says:

just curious but how close you think you are to making it keep your preferences through reboots? this app is exactly what i have been looking for. i just want some things not to go to landscape, such as home screen and phone. thanks

    • admin says:

Not close at all, I’ve given up for the time being but I might try again later this week.
